The American Society of Oncology has released a mobile version of their sponsored website: Cancer.net. It is available for free from the App Store, for iOS 9.0 or later, and has a 4.4 rating. It’s also available for free from Google Play, for Android 4.3 or higher, and has a 4.3 rating.
Cancer.net offers mobile services to assist cancer patients with inputting personal information to streamline their questions, appointments, and more. Some of the offered benefits include symptom tracking, doctor contact, and scheduling. The information from the app is expansive and the navigation is easy. However, one complaint is the app has random shut downs that interrupts use and customer service is unreachable.
Info, Symptoms, and Medication
Cancer.net gives detailed information including costs, treatment, and side effects of over 120 types of cancer. Symptoms of certain cancers can be logged by severity, date, and time into a line graph. Additionally, patients can search for their medications to uncover their uses and side effect profiles.
Appointments and Providers
Appointments can be manually entered into the app or synced with a device calendar. Patients can attach questions to be discussed with providers at appointments. Providers’ contact information can be stored and saved into the app for easy reference.
